Speech audiometry

Description

This  is the standard test for determining your ability to understand speech clearly.

speech audiogram is performed on older children and adults, but is unsuitable for infants and young children.

The test requires that the patient be able to respond to speech by repeating words spoken to them. Special lists of words are used and these may be monosyllabic or spondaic words.

The results are usually out within an hour and are interpreted by the doctor.
